Dr. Paul Leslie - Portfolio
My Philosophy of Education is that, "Education is a Community Affair". We construct our understanding of the world by reflecting on our experiences and by learning from those of others, including our peers and our teachers, who are sometimes the same people! To this end, I share my work and reflections publicly in order to build and support a community of inquiry.
I believe that I can contribute to social justice by socially constructing knowledge with my peers and students. In this way, we can all aspire to personal and pedagogic freedom, (a la Freire) through Education. From a reflective perspective, I can also return to this site repeatedly to review past work in order to learn from myself. I can also see the comments and perspectives of my peers and students on this work.
My portfolio can be viewed through three spheres of intentionality. Read more about the three spheres. The different elements, or spheres, of my portfolios makes my work transparent to my community. While this section of my site is my showcase area, the entire site may be viewed as my Teaching Portfolio.
Please take some time to review the various sections below. You can return to this main page using the breadcrumb trail under the banner at the top of the page.

A collection of artefacts and evidence of work between 2006 to 2016. Archived and closed in favour of the "Teaching and Learning" category.
These entries and reflections go back to 2006. Previously, I used this blog for 106 different reflections from 2006 to 2010. During this period, I started to consolidate my work and rely more heavily on institutional LMS systems. Thus, this representation is not a comprehensive and exhaustive reflection of my work.
Portfolio Approach to Learning at the Ramaqia Boys School.
This project ran from September, 2013 to May, 2014. Teachers from the Ramaqia Boys School, in Sharjah, UAE, developed electronic portfolios using the Mahara ePortfolio system in order to support the Ministry of Education and The UAE Federal Authority on Human Resources specifications for demonstrating competency in their work.
